How to Write 3k Words In An Hour

It's possible

If you’re efficient at writing, it won’t take you much time to reach your daily word goal. Here are some ways you can improve your efficiency:

Write or Die:

There’s a website online called ‘Write or Die’. There’s two modes — Normal and Kamikaze. In normal mode, there’s a red alarm that goes off with an obnoxious sound in the background. This should already make you continue.

Kamikaze mode begins deleting your words if you stop writing for a while.

Think of Ideas Before Writing:

Let’s say you write at 10am. You study before 10am, and you have some time for meditation. During those times, you can think of what you want to write in your story that particular day.

Don’t focus on pacing too much, as this will hinder your writing. However, just focus on what you want to do that particular day, without thinking about what you will do tomorrow.

Turn off notifications:

Put away the phone. It’s always because of that damn phone (not trying to sound like a parent). You don’t want to get notifications of how blogging isn’t worth it anymore. You want to write.

Multitasking doesn’t exist. You could be switching between tasks, but you aren’t doing them simultaneously. Same thing with notifications. You can’t write while you’re reading.

Do one thing at once.

Quit the Editing

Despite the temptation, it’s never a good idea to edit when you haven’t finished your first draft. Here’s a fact — your first draft is crap. It’s like someone smeared faeces on it.

Deal with that. But, your writing will be outstanding during the editing phase. Don’t edit as you write.
